A fluid-dynamic model for traffic flow on a road networks

A mathematical model for fluid-dynamic flows on networks based on conservation laws
and proposed into two papers by Coclite-Garavello-Piccoli and Chitour-Piccoli,
is tested through a simulator prototype. This simulator, following such fluid-dynamic
model, is applied to urban road networks, which are represented as graphs.

The numerical approximation of scalar conservation laws along arcs composing
the graph, is performed by numerical methods for conservation laws like the classical
Godunov's scheme and kinetic schemes of first and second order with the use of
               suitable boundary conditions.

We present the algorithm and the applications to some simple cases and also
to real portions of urban network.
